Someone gave this indoor tree to my boss as a gift. If someone can identify it we might be able to save it.

Schefflera 'Variegata.' It looks healthy based on that one leaf - a picture of the whole tree will help us determine its overall health.

Here are a couple photos of the whole tree. It was out in the foyer at the office and it might get too cold out there for it because the back side has dead branches and leaves.

Yup, that's cold damage all right. Maybe move it to an interior space further from the door (and prune off the dead branches). Other than that, it actually looks pretty happy.

Do you know what kind of tree it is? We moved it to a warmer spot and clipped off the dead branches. We would like to know what kind it is so we can see how to take care of it.

Sorry, I see now I missed the name. I'm not a plant guy so I didn't recognize the name.

You can find more information on the plant using the name Schefflera arboricola. 'Variegata' is the name of the cultivar.
