I have this indoor tree for the past 11 years now. Recently I cut it because it grew to the highest point in my house and didn't have any more space to grow. I replanted it and it seems to be doing well. Now I have new growth on the base part of the tree where I cut it. There are numerous babies sprouting out and some are growing quite significantly. Can someone tell me how to cut these babies and replant them. Do I just cut the sprout itself or do I have to cut a part of the original stock with them? Please help because I don't want them to die!! Thanks in advance.

You don't need any of the old stem to transplant those offshoots. Gentle downward pressure should snap them off (which is a bit friendlier than cutting), and then you can simply plant them in the same mix of soil you used for the crown.

Your plant looks like either a Yucca or a Dracaena, and both are receptive to being propagated this way.
