I just got this as a gift. Please help me with the name, and does it flower? Any information would be great!

I think this is a crested euphorbia, rather than a cactus. The little green bits coming off of part of the edge of the fasciated stems (see how the monstrous crested variant is grafted onto a normal one?) are probably about to produce tiny greenish flowers.

Looks like a Euphorbia to me too. A quick check is to cut the surface very slightly, and a bead of white latex will emerge.

Note that this white latex is toxic and can cause skin burns on some people, so be careful not to touch it!

there was a white substance that came out of the scratch. How big do they get? what special care does it need?
