    Hello all,
I have next to no gardening experience, but just today I secured a garden plot at the Community Park and Garden on the corner of Pacific and Seymour (downtown Vancouver). I am very excited about greening my thumb, but I only have the plot for one year, and I'm not sure how to make the best of this opportunity.

What plants should I focus on? When can I start getting my hands dirty? Are there other resources (books, websites, etc.) that you would recommend for a novice like myself? Any guidance you can offer would be much appreciated!

    Thanks in advance,
    Theresa

Hi Theresa, congrats on the garden plot. for fall consider lettuce, spinach, garlic and onions. whence psring comes around, check in again there are a ton of opportunities. That is if you are thinking of a food garden vs an ornamental one. :)

Thanks, Paul. Yes, I am most interested in maintaining a food garden. I had no idea I'd be able to plant anything this late in the year.

Off to learn more about growing lettuce, spinach, garlic and onions...
