Hi ! I'm new to this, I discovered this thrill, not yet a passion, about a month ago. I was in such a rush to buy this beautiful plant that I forgot to ask the lady what it was and the attention it needed. If you could please ID this plant for me, we'll both thank you :D http://i.imgur.com/omNoN.jpg http://i.imgur.com/BfJ6C.jpg http://i.imgur.com/EIVaA.jpg
Just a thought, but google Aucuba and let me know what you think. If so they are generally considered outdoor shrubs. Otherwise I'm drawing a blank. barb
Barb, I think you got it ! I'll google how to keep these alive during our cold winters. Reason I wanted to know the name of this plant is that I don't know if they need sun light or, like the dieffenbacchia, ambient light instead of pure sunshine. On the weekends I put it outside and today I came back from work to see that the leaves were starting to go yellowish :/ Many thanks to you, I'll be able to google the care this plant need :) Just another hint, there's also another plant from the same family but instead of light light green dots, they're orange-like. G'night !
OBC Great! Like I said it is generally an outdoor plant. It winters over outside here but we don't really have cold winters so you might have to shelter or protect it somehow. Yours looks like it's not getting enough light because of the wide spaces between the leaves. You might check with local people and find out just how hardy it is and how to take care of it. Maybe it is a hoseplant in your area. I just don't know. Anyway glad I could help and have fun with it. barb
Sorry folks, but this is definitely not an Aucuba. Mystery plant appears to have scaley dry leaflets up the stem... Aucuba do not have these.
OBC - Silver surfer and Junglekeeper are correct - I'm wrong. The Gold Dust looks so different than most Dracaena it didn't even come to mind and should have. Thank heaven for "two heads are better than one". barb
