I just bought this plant - because I love it! I have never seen it before! It didn't have anything in or on it to identify what the heck it is - so I have no idea how to care for it. All I need to know is the name - I can search from there?
Looks to be a pretty seriously neglected croton, maybe. Please water it, regardless. From the pot, I'd say it probably came from Engelmann, so you might saearch there first. I think they're under the trade name of Exotic Angels (don't blame me if you pull up porn sites. ;-)
You folks DO realize don't you that those leaves are genetically shaped to look wilted/curled? Regard Chris
Yes, but beyond that. I grow those, and they're a bit more opened than that when they've got enough water.
The plant has been watered... thanks. Okay so I did some searching on croton's. I found one that it actually looks like... Croton Volutum. I found one picture (i guess it's a painting of some sort) I have yet to find any information on care... how much water? how much sun? how big will it get? etc. Anyone know anything about croton volutum? Oh and I did look up Englemann (exotic angels) no luck :(
you have a beautiful plant!!!!! I wish I could one like that where I live. I didnt even know it existed. So thanks for your post!
Look up general croton care, since most have similar requirements (barring the trees, which that one is not.)
A little tiny bit more information.... It’s not a new variety, but it is one that is not all that common. It is called Ram’s Horn or, "Volutum" like you thought, and it will normally color up with a lot more yellow, reds and orange.
