I started 2 from seed and I don't want to kill them this time! I usually plant them now, then they die. At what point should they go into dirt? Do I cover the whole seed?? Thanks!
I have had success with placing the seed in water covered half way until it grows about 5in tall making sure to change the water when it looks cloudy. Then place in a pot with the top part of the seed exposed from the soil. Place in a sunny location but make sure that the soil stays very moist (but not muddy) for the first few weeks, it should be fine and continue to grow. I have started 4 seeds this way and they are all still alive. Now I just need to practice pinching back the leaves.
