My Hoya carnosa is many years old, has been trouble-free until now when I just discovered mealy bugs, but I think that's unrelated to what I'm writing about. On two areas of the plant apparently not affected by the mealy bugs are a pair of leaves that are different from the others. These leaves are soft, narrower, not very spotted, and they're sticky all over. No other leaves have any sticky areas. You would normally never be able to bend even new Hoya carnosa leaves the way I have in the second photo. These new leaf pairs are mid-branch. There are a lot of areas with normal mid-branch branching. Would this be a hybrid and one of the parent characteristics is appearing?
