We just moved to Nakusp BC about 18 months ago and have had a crash course in gardening because the property we bought has a huge garden. We pruned or peach tree last fall the way the previous owner told us to but then we had no peaches, and I mean not one this year. Can someone give me some advice on how and when I'm supposed to prune. The peach tree is on the side of the house and I know we are supposed to trim branches back so they dont stick out past the eaves, but thats about all I know. We must have done something wrong to have no peaches. Please help
How disappointing! One thing that can affect fruit yield is the weather during the blossom time. If it is too rainy, cold etc. the pollinators are less likely to be out doing their job. For some pruning help, you can try this link: http://www.omafra.gov.on.ca/english/crops/facts/00-005.htm#mature Other ideas folks?
great video for pruning. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tj2QTmq4GyQ&noredirect=1 Hope this helps. Peaches can pruned quite heavily. Cheers Kim
