I am planning for my spring wedding in the Ohio Valley. If trees, like cherry, are blossoming can these stems be cut from the tree and used in arrangements? OR will the blossoms wilt within a few hours?
The flowers will take a bit of time to open so timing would be important. They should last one to two weeks in water. This site tells when it's best to cut them and has a list of suggested woody ornamentals recommended for cutting and forcing for spring blooms. http://www.attra.org/attra-pub/PDF/woodyornamentals.pdf Here's another handy site. http://gardening.about.com/od/winterinthegarden/a/ForceSpShrubs.htm Congratulations on your up-coming wedding!
