I have two Algaonema plants in a 4 inch pot, its stem is about 12". It looks awkward, and I wanted to know how to cut it back, where do I cut it exactly? And when do you recommend doing this, is now a good time of year? Thanks for any help!!

The stems of this plant can start to look a little leggy. Stems can be cut 2/3 or almost to the soil line back, then plant the leafy tips
(5"-7" worth) back into the same pot . New growth on the bare stumps will grow near the where the cuts were made (can take a while) so you'll eventually have four plants. Or, you can cut just cut the tips (5"-7") and root them in another small pot.

Oh, and you can do this now if you like, there shouldn't be any problems.
