I am new to tropicals and have planted several canna "bulbs" according to supplied instructions. What is an average time for growth to appear bearing in mind I am in SC and seeing 90 degree temps daily? It also says "full sun" on package is this for after growth begins or before?

Full sun all the time. Lots of water too.

Depending on all the factors... 5 days to 2 weeks. Just a guess.

When you bought the rhizomes, did you notice new shoots developing? It can vary depending on those shoots.

There were very slight, light color bumps. Nothing I would call a shoot

Just be patient. Even a wait of a couple of weeks will be worth it. Keep them damp. (Not soaked). Canna corms are pretty tough guys, and it will take an awful lot to discourage them.

I planted canna bulbs where I live in Ontario, Canada - Zone 5b. They were planted in mid-May and they have 4-5 inch shoots on them now. Agreed on the full sun, lots of water :)
