Must Eucomis bulbs be brought in over the winter in the Vancouver area (actually the Sunshine Coast), or can they be left outside?

These Eucomis are grown outside year-round. I'm not sure how many have survived some of the recent winters.

I bought an Eucomis comosa (syn.E.punctata) at the UBC Perennial sale last year and accidentally left it out side unprotected all winter in a container (3 gal size). I was sure it was dead because I thought it must have froze in the container, but I dumped the dirt out to reuse the container this spring and found the bulb had sprouted roots and was sending up a spike! I repotted it and put it in my greenhouse, it's now grown more and is about 4" out of the dirt. So, I'd say this species is pretty hardy.
