Identification: House plant in Iceland. What am I?

    I bought this house plant at a plant store yesterday and the staff had no idea what it is.

    You can't see it in the picture, but the plant is unusual in that the leaves grow to either side but not towards the front or back (as in, the plant is much wider than it is deep).

    Hopefully these pictures are ok!

    Grown out side here and they really are lovely. I have a Vietnamese friend who has a huge border of them. They like sun
