Holy tree in pot, leaf drop problems

Hello all and Merry Christmas/Yule to you all!

I have a 3 year old Holly tree in a pot that has been doing well until this summer when it got infested with a kind of webby bug.

I was able to knock themt back with Qtips dipped in rubbing alcohol and everything seemed good till the last couple of weeks.

Now the leaves are turning black from the center out and then falling off. They get really dry before falling on their own and will come off with a slight pull.

Any suggestions on things to look for?

merry ho ho to you . sprey the with a solution of copper spray as per recommended
but add in 1/4 tbls of antibacterial handwash or antiseptic mouthwash .

Do you think the leave dropping is a result of the same critters?
