    Hello,

I have a shady moist corner of my garden where my Hostas, Ferns, and Orchids thrive, but every summer I experience a blight across the board. Some type of pest leaves holes in my plants. I sprayed a common pesticide, but they keep coming back. The pests are not visible during the day. See attached.

slugs. they LOVE hosta and most other plants that like moist & shady spots.

put down crushed shells around the plants - the sharp edges will keep most of the slugs away.

I doubt it is slugs, the holes are too small as well as a majority of the leave with holes are very small and could not hold the weight of a slug. We could not find any tell tale slime trails as well anywhere near the infected plants.
