holly bushes turning brown quickly

Discussion in 'Woody Plants' started by Unregistered, Apr 12, 2004.

  1. I have had a hedge composed of holly for approximately 8 years. They have always been very hardy and the growth has been wonderful each year since planting. However, in the past three weeks I have noticed that the entire hedgeline looks as if it is dying. Most areas of the bushes are now tan colored and the leaves look like they are withered and leathery. I'm upset that I'll need to replace the entire hedge and I am confused as to what might have caused this very rapid decline.
    Thank you.
