Since my family is sick of me showing them my pictures of flowers or the plants themselves i thought i would share a few with everyone on here. At least then more than just I will be able to enjoy them. These are three that are flowering for me right now and im waiting for the rest to open.
Just posted my first post looking for I.D. of a plant I was given. Was looking around the site. Stumbled across the photography/art section. Hibiscus is one of my all time favorite flowers. I don't have any at this time, but I gave my folks a yellow and orange one like your first picture cause my dad is color blind and yellow is one color he can see really well. It is beautiful; as are yours.
Thank you for your compliment, I do love hibiscus as well and have a collection. The first plant is called "firetruck" and it starts out bright red and fades to orange by the end of the day. if you would liek to see any more of my plants i would love to show them as my family is bored of hearing about them.
My wife and I have hibiscus growing everywhere. I am including some photos of flowers from the different varieties that are growing around our house on Raiatea.
Love that blueish one in the middle, but they are all very beautifull! Please, please post more when they bloom!
here are 3 more of mine that are in bloom, and currently 9 more are budding, plus my oleanders, lantans, abutilons, and orchids. painted lady, and an un-named yellow cultivar
Oops, i forgot about this one, it just finished blooming and it was free so i kindaforgot i got him. This ones name is reggae, it came from my work ad didn't look too hot when he came in so i took him home and now he is blooming and doing quite well.
Only two blossoms this year...but worth a pic (with old fuzzy camera) nevertheless. The blossoms look as though they're made of satin.
This mystery hibiscus has finally bloomed, it turned out to be a beautiful double pink, the cultivar name is called Mary, the blooms took about 3 weeks to fully open and last for about a week instead of just one-two days. the other hibiscus is called Largo, another orange variety that i recieved from my store because it wasn't doing very well. Thats what i get for people not watering my plants when im on vacation. I also added a picture of my abutilon in bloom, since it is the hibiscus cousin.
Here is the picture of 5th dimension in bloom, its one of the best hibiscus that i have , and i have a lot now ( got 2 more today). Hope every enjoys this and adds there own pictures to this thread and maybe we can all trade cuttings this summer.
A stunning collection, James. What a bonus blooms lasted more than one or two days. Thanks for the info that abutilon is hibbie's cousin! Didn't know that.
Here is yet another Hibiscus that i have its my un-named double orange variety. Hope you all enjoy this on as you have all the others and please post pictures of your hibiscus too or any other flowering plants you have.
She's gorgeous! Love the double petals. I have 3 adult, and one seedling from two of the unnamed hybrids. It will probably bloom [I hope next year].
I just cross polinated 2 of my plants at home and have some seed pods growing, so we will see what they come out to be. i crossed painted lady with largo, they were both flowering at the same time so i thought i would try.
This is yet another of my hibiscus, its looking really good right now, with about 6 open blooms on it (not all visible in the photo). Hope you like its a nice double white with a dark pink centre.
any good place in town. ? also can you send me a directr email or PM cause my account isnt activated yet. thanks i've got a couple of questions thanks Al
Live2ride these are the plants that i have in my store at this time. the names are sunny wind, mandarin, hurricane lily,unnamed,tye-dye.
oops sorry forgot one, this is called carolina. I also have one that is red and has yellow in the centre, very nice but it wasn't open for me to take pictures.
I would say the third one is hurricane lily based on this picture http://www.yoder.com/grower/tradewinds/variety/Product_Results.asp?ID=3865
