Crimson Maples? 'Crimson King', 'Crimson Queen', 'Crimson Prince' or 'Crimson Sentry'? What species? Cultivar?
'Crimson Sentry' mildews readily in western WA, if that is what you are referring to. Frequent washing of the foliage with a spray nozzle on the end of a water hose might help, otherwise it's probably a matter of resorting to appropriate fungicide.
