    hello
we are moving into a new home and I would like to know if a windmill palm will do well in our area. there are palms lower down in northvancouver, but we are about 2 blocks above queens. Which is about 5 block above the upper levels highway.

we love the way a palm with perhaps a banana leaf palm ? would look.

    can you advise.

    Trachycarpus Fortunei

You should have no problem with the above species which is common at all nurseries. Other species to try but are harder to find are trachycarpus takil and trachycarpus wagnerianus.
These should survive in your area.
