We have a hummingbird vine growing next to a wisteria and I am building a trellis to support the wisteria. Can I weave the hummingbird vine into the trellis as well so as to have both plants blooming in the same area. We have just moved into the house and I estimate that both plants are probably 15+ years old and they have never had a lot of care or maintenance.

Seems it should be possible if they have grown together for 15 years so far. Wisteria large and vigorous, main issue would be wisteria overwhelming the other - will have to prune and train to keep them playing well. When grown on a structure, wisteria usually have to be kept on top of anyway. I've even seen them send sheets of shoots across the top of the ground, like living piano wire.

Do you know the botanical name for your hummingbird vine? Is it campsis radicans?

I am sorry but I do not know the technical name for my hummingbird vine. Are there different varieties?
