The leaves kind of remind me of Dogwood, but the stems are all green and its size and spreading growth pattern are much like vine maple. Some of the stems/trunks are 3+ cm thick. The sample in the photo was taken last week from a shady spot along a creek at the 1000 m elevation on the east slope of the Cascades near Merritt. Sorry, I found no evidence of flowers or fruit. Any suggestions?
