    hello everyone.
I would like someone helping me in identifying this strange creature thas has appeared twice in the last 2 months in my back patio. Yesterday i´ve found a 2 dozen group .
They tend to grow in gravel.
I,m in Portugal and it's Mid Summer here.
    Thanks

I just got a confirmation from an expert (Tom Volk, Dept. of Biology, Univ. of Wisc.) that it is indeed a type of stinkhorn, but that it is impossible to tell which kind while it is still in the egg. If you haven't picked all of them, let one grow so we can ID.

Thank you very much to all. I will try to post further pictures if they survive.
