Hi everyone and thanks for welcoming me to your forum.

I have never had luck with plants but have successfully kept one alive now for 2 years. Big accomplishment for me. However it has not grown an inch since I've had it. It was in a very small pot when it was given to me. And much to my surprise I managed to transplant it into a much larger pot without killing it. Although this hasn't helped it grow any.

I would like to learn more about how to care for this plant and promote growth. But have no clue what it is or how to identify it.

I would also like to add friends to my lonely house plant. I live in a small condo with only one usable light source, a patio door, that only gets morning sun light. Any suggestions as to what plants would do well in this condition would be great appreciated.

    Thanks for your help.

I would say Dracaena marginata. Does your plant have any red on the edge of the leaves? If not, then I don't know what it is other than a Dracaena of some kind and the plants requirments would be the same as Dracaena marginata.

    Thank you globalist,

Yes, indeed the edge of the leaves have a very thin band of dull red on the edge of the leaves. The red is much bright and a thicker band nearest to the stock.

I will start my research and again, thank you.

The first thing you should do is move it away from the fireplace.
