It had a beautiful crown of long leaves, but there seems to be a white flakey fungus thwarting the new growth. It's growing new leaves but they break off before the mature. Any help is appreiciated.

The white downy stuff might well be cottony cush scale. Your garden store can give you a spray for that. The broken leaves are more ( I think ) a physical problem, like your cat wanting 'greens'. Or the wind whipping the daylights out of them.

    Thanks Chuck,

I have no cats and the plant is kept on a plant rack in the kitchen. I'll check out your recommendation though.

    Thanks for the help,
    Carroll

ok, just that the ponytail's I've seen the leaves are thinner. The False Sea Onion looked more similar. But hey am no expert anyways.

Me neither, it just had more growth from the top and the base looks more "woody" from the photo...
