I am looking for suggestions for hardy hedge plants that would afford privacy. I am planting them next to grass, are there considerations in terms of co-habitation?

Have a look-see by searching this forum for hedge. Go to the Pacific NW of North America forum main page, then click on "Search this Forum" in the upper right. There are a few related hedge / privacy discussions.

Since this question is posed on the PNW forum, I'll make a suggestion of our native snowberry (Symphoricarpus). Deciduous, but fully hardy here, and it provides habitat for birds. It seems to form informal hedges on it's own along local roadsides about 6' in height.
