I have a hardy hibiscus, actually a mallow - "Plum Crazy", that I currently have in a large pot. It has grown well (it's about 4 feet tall) and is blooming. I had hoped to plant it in the ground this fall, but don't have a place for it. My question is this....will it survive the winter outside in the pot or should I move it into the unheated garage? I could move it into the basement, where I have a grow light - that's where I move my tropical hibiscus for the winter, but does the hardy species need dormancy? I live in zone 5 (Kansas City). Also, do I prune it back like my hardy hibiscuses (I have 2 that are in the ground)? Thank you for your help! Have a great weekend! Kim Wilson
