Gunnera Too large

    I have a very old and huge Gunnera that has consumed twice the space allotted for it. How can it be cut back.
    Just starting to leaf sprout now.

    Big is the point of this plant. Even if you split it up, a fresh division stuck back in the same spot will grow large again. Better to take it out, put it in another spot - in your garden or someone else's.
