growing trees in clay soil

    help , i live in northern nevada where the summers are very hot , the winters are very cold and the soil is packed clay . help me plant something green that will grow and possibly quickly , trees , bushes , grasses

    Take cues from what's growing around you, both in cultivated & wild areas. Nevada has very diverse climates & the conditions you just decribed could be anywhere in the US except the southeast, extreme southwest, and the west coast.

    Lack of rainfall & soil salinity will be a greater problem than the summer heat & winter cold.
