I took a clipping of a cherry tomato plant from my sister in Houston, Texas and rooted it in water and then planted it in a pot outside and the plant has just taken off. I am in NY. I get tomatoes, they turn red but they are green inside and bitter. I didn't eat it of course but I just tasted it with my tongue. What am I doing wrong. I planted it in plain potting soil and later added a mixture called organic choice for container flowers and vegetables. This is the first time doing this and I am excited but I must be doing something wrong. I picked them when they turn red and let it sit for about 3 days. The tomato was still green inside but was soft and red outside.
