Hi. I recently started eating avocados and really enjoy them. So I thought that it would be cool to try and grow my own tree. I also recently found that I am growing a "greenthumb" :) So I have these three pits in water but one of them has started growing something red out the top and I'm just wondering what that is. Did I not clean the avocado from the pit good enough? Can anyone help me please. Thanks. Barb :)
Hello there I started with these many times but I always put 3-4 toothpick in the pit so just half of the seed was in the water. It cracks open and I imagine your "red on the top" is the starter stage.
