    Hello,

I bought in Squamish a few years ago. The builder laid sod and it was fine for a year then it began to go patchy. I have fertilized and added a layer of turf mix and seed to the entire last year without much improvement. The lawn receives plenty of sun and water.

    A few questions...

    1. Am I doing something fundamentally wrong with my attempts to bring back the lawn
    2. IS there a certain type of seed that is better for the Squamish area
    3. What time of year is best to power rake and aerate
    4. Should I add another layer of turf mix top dressing this year

    Thank you for your help

    Ryan

I am no pro but to my understanding fertilizing too late in the season can make the lawn susceptible to frost which could cause patches in the lawn, any moss taking over?
I have had great success in Nanaimo with just using moss control in the early spring, then later on using corn glutton for a fertilizer, also I aerate in the spring.
Just what works for me, I am sure others can answer your questions about bringing the lawn back and the right seed :)
