Hi, I have planted a 2 year old concord grape plant or is it grapevine and another one that starts with "N" , can't remember the name in our backyard. I've learned that there is a sewer system underneath the spots where I planted the grapevines. I am now concerned that the roots can reach down to the sewer pipes later and probably damaging them. I have searched on the Internet about how long the roots of the grapevine grow but was not able to find any info. Will really appreciate info on this. Should I just transfer the plants and can I still transfer them?

Ir you are in Richmond you are almost certainly on a sewer system as opposed to a septic system. Sewer pipes are (supposed to be) comptetely sealed, and will be ignored by your grapes. Its a different story with tree roots which can physically displace pipes, but grapes are nowhere near that strong.

    "Niagara" by any chance?
