    Hi Guy's,

I have read up and boned up on grafting, but the one thing I can't find out is what time of the year is the best time to perform this task,.....or is there no specific time?

I would appreciate a reply on this.

    Bestest to all,

    KEN.

RHS says, "Fruit trees are grafted at different times of year, depending on the technique. Chip budding and T-budding are undertaken from mid-summer into early autumn, while whip-and-tongue grafting takes place in late winter or early spring."

University of Minnesota Extension says, "It is best to graft in the spring, from the time the buds of understock trees are beginning to open, until blossom time. The usual time is April or early May."

Thanks for your prompt reply on Grafting Eric La Fountaine & The Universityof Minnesota.

One final question, which is the best method for a Plum Tree, Whip & Tongue, Chip or Tee Budding?

    Bestest,

    KEN.
