Three or so years ago I obtained some seeds of golden kiwi from a California supplier. They germinated and I have 3 plants in the garden and two in an allotment area. One plant flowered this summer and last. I recognise them as male flowers. However none of the other 4 vines , though vigorous have produced flowers. Is it possible I may get female blossoms (and fruit) from one of the other 4 vines? I don't know the origin of the seeds but golden kiwi appears to be a patented hybrid - would this be a factor in flowering?
Definitely still possible. My recollection (perhaps from a previous forum thread?) is that male vines can often mature earlier (produce flowers at an earlier age) than female vines. I can't find a reference to back that statement up, though.
