    Hello All,

I have been watching these little beetles in my garden for the last part of the summer, and they seem to be spreading now. They started off on the tomato plants - on the tomatoes themselves, not on the leaves, and they do seem to be drinking or eating the tomatoes, as the fruits they are one end up with a mottled appearance and the inside flesh is white in spots. They're often accompanied by a large grasshopper. I have more recently seen them on my pepper plants and yesterday I found some on my prune plum tree. They don't seem to be doing any leaf damage.

Does anyone know what they are? Thanks for your help.

Only a wild guess - is it a weevil of some sort? I found a black but similiar on an apple yesterday. Am sure someone else will be more informative but if not then perhaps weevil may prove useful in an internet search.
