Well, I'm not sure what is being asked. Is it about the harmless lichens on the tree bark? Or what looks like either a bad graft or possibly volcano mulching at the base of the trees? Volcano of mulch - Don't let this problem erupt in your yard! - Favreau Forestry
Thanks Daniel, Sorry I assumed that the question was about what is happening at the base of the tree, not the lovely lichens on the bark. I could be wrong though; hopefully the requestor will follow up with more information to clarity their question. ... and thank you for adding Volcano Mulching to my vocabulary ... Hi Ernesto, thank you for following up with more photos. I don't see any problems on your palm trees in these photos. There are lichens on the bark, but that is normal and harmless. I hope that helps
It sound like you are asking how to get rid of the lichen on the bark? I don't know why you would want to eradicate something harmless and beautiful ... but if you were determined to do so, the removal methods would likely to be at least somewhat stressful to your palm tree: Best generally not to mess with a tree's bark ph level and defenses, as it uses these to fight off pathogens.
