Looks like powdery mildew. A very common fungus.

Thanks for the reply but do you know how I can save the plants? Its spreading to the other plants. I recently had a problem with aphids and now this. It has been a brutal year for rainfall in our area. I am in New York and all of our plants are in containers because I live on the beach and have no soil, only sand. The most affected plants are the honeysuckle from the picture and my tomatoes are now dead from the same white spots. Thanks again for your time and expertise.

Powdery mildew is "species specific"......meaning that the mildew did not and will not spread from the honeysuckle to other plants. BUT the other plants could get powdery mildew from other related plants.

It is hard to get rid of mildew once it is on the plant, but you can spray with a systemic fungicide on the plants that are not affected for protection.

    Hope this helps

Thanks again for your expertise. I have one more question. Will the plant come back next year, or should I get rid of it now? We really like these Honeysuckles because they provide us with some privacy from our neighbors who are very close to us. But I would like to know if it will die forever or just for this growing season, so we can get a new one if need be. Thanks again....

Powdery mildew will only defoliate the plant. The honeysuckle will recover and hopefully it may not get the disease next year.
