    Hi there,

while walking around I found some suspicious red spots on the ground.
At first they looked like paint drops, but to a closer analysis they
were something like fungi specimens. Their radius is about 3mm.
Can anyone try to identify them? I've never seen
the full grown specimens so I suppose they're something
    unusual.

I tried to keep pictures at the best possible quality.

    Thank you in advance

It could be the ascomycete Scutellinia scutellata, sometimes called the "eyelash cup" due to the hairs around the outside. It is usually quite small (5-20 mm). It usually grows on wood, however--is it possible that there was well-decayed wood in the soil?
