This was growing in juniper litter in central Texas. Anyone know what it is?

Without any more to go on, I think it is a species of Inonotus (ps. I. tomentosus).

Next time Ill get some better pictures. It was large. I actually saw some larger than this one, maybe the size of a dinner plate. I didn't look at the gills, or even if it had any. We had more rain than usual this summer. This picture was the floor of a shady juniper stand northwest of San Antonio Texas. I just thought it was neat looking.

My guess was Inonotus also, but I would also consider Hydnellum -- impossible to tell without seeing the underside.
