Years ago I used to make various sorts of crossword puzzles on the topic of fungi / mushrooms / mycology.

Was a good exercise for me at the time for many reasons, including of course getting some learning in along the way from all the things I had to look up in order to provide the clues ... and in this case ... words that were only five letters long :-).

In general I made very difficult puzzles with pretty obscure things in them ... It might be long enough now that I've forgotten the answers so perhaps I'll give it a try myself.

I've blocked out the upside-down answer key, but I can post it later if of interest :-)

    Yer darn tootin'!

Whew! Am about halfway done and feel both refreshed and ignorant!

Freely admit that I sought online help with several clues, but was chuffed to know 'lacticifer' and Cladosporium.
'Diapir' was a new one on me, and would be apt in a standard x-word puzzle.

    Great stuff! A real treat.
