Re: Eight O'clock Plant? they are plants and are getting quite tall in my sunroom. however, i believe they are 8 o'clocks thanks
I have never heard of an eight-o'clock plant. Do they look like this plant, but with white flowers? http://www.durgan.org/14%20August%202006%20Four%20o'clock%20%20Mirabilis%20multiflora/HTML/ The common name comes from the fact that the flowers would open at 4pm. One website from north Florida says they open at 8pm in that area. Maybe they just started calling them eight-o'clocks as a local name.
they are the multi colored and we saw them open at 8 o'clock here (indiana) last summer. appreciate any info you can give us
