I have a young weeping willow that has a spot about the size of a dime that is producing foam. The spot is about three feet from the ground, and there is enough foam that it runs down about 18 inches before drying. Can anyone tell me what is causing the foam? will it hurt the tree. How do I stop whatever it is?
I had a similar problem with three young willow trees and they all died. I tried opening the foaming spat and treated he spat with bleach . three times in a row to no avail. I wished I had an cure Jimboo

Hi Jimboo. Thanks for the reply. However this is not the answer I was looking for. I am going to call the local university system, maybe they can give me a clue. Once again Thank you. Terry
