I have this cactus that started flowering. What is the ID of it? Also is it commun thing for those to flower?
Hi. It's not a cactus, but another succulent. A haworthia, I think, but don't know the species. Almost all the hawthorias make great windowsill plants; some morning sun is ok but not high heat. They like well draining soil; cactus soil with some perlite is one suggestion. When it's growing, water well and let it almost dry out before watering again (they go semi-dormant in high heat and generally are dormant over the winter, but I've had them grow when they got happy near the fluorscent lights! Lovely plant; best of luck with it.
May be Haworthia cymbiformis var. Cymbiformis: http://www.infojardin.com/fotos/albums/userpics/Haworthia cymbiformis flower.jpg http://yann.cochard.free.fr/images/10/1055.jpg
ah yes its what I have. So its usual for those to flower? I never had success with anything flowering LOL
