Flowering Cactus, ID?

    I have this cactus that started flowering. What is the ID of it? Also is it commun thing for those to flower?

    Hi. It's not a cactus, but another succulent. A haworthia, I think, but don't know the species. Almost all the hawthorias make great windowsill plants; some morning sun is ok but not high heat. They like well draining soil; cactus soil with some perlite is one suggestion. When it's growing, water well and let it almost dry out before watering again (they go semi-dormant in high heat and generally are dormant over the winter, but I've had them grow when they got happy near the fluorscent lights! Lovely plant; best of luck with it.

    yes, haworthia is correct. can't remember the name of it though.

    Haworthia cymbiformis doesn't have retuse leaves.

    Its Haworthia mirabilis.

    ah yes its what I have. So its usual for those to flower? I never had success with anything flowering LOL

    Most Haworthia will bloom sporadically year round when grown well.
