I purchased a Fireglow Japanese Maple during the spring time here in NC. It was around March or April of this year. All summer long it looked great until about June. The leaves began to have holes in them such as bug bites. I was later informed that beetles were attacking my Fireglow. I was told to purchase "SEVIN" a lawn bug killer that took care of the beetles. But now slowly the tree has been dropping all of its leaves. It is not cold here until about November maybe. All the other Japenese Maples on the block are alive and thriving. Most of them however, appear to be bloodgood or similar. They have all changed to green, brownish green or a pinkish hue. Mine was beautiful until last month. Now it has about three wriggled leaves left. HELP!!! What can I do to save my tree??? Or is this just its way of regenerating after haveing all of its leaves bug bitten? I don't know what is happening, my tree is the only one bare. Please help.
