I have a ficus plant that I think is dying. I obviously didn't know how to care for it. It's stems are dark and they feel like they are shriveling inside the papery bark. This plant is dear to me, and I hope I can save it. Some of the stems seem healthy. Is there hope?
cut off all the dead branches and make sure that your ficus is getting enough light and make sure that it is drying out between its waterings. what type of ficus is it?
Over-watering and not enough light are probably right...I just hope it's not too late. What about repotting...is now a bad time, or would that help? I don't want to distress it anymore than I already have.
Nothing would help except to leave it alone in very good light, humidity and no watering for a week to 10 days (it can take more than that).
Thanks everyone! I sure am glad I found this website...I love plants, but I tend to have a "brown thumb"! Maybe that will change now!
I've finally identified it...ficus elastica. I saw a picture of one [which is quite depressing because now I know what it's supposed to look like:(]
