I think the evergreen clematis could take that kicking... And it flowers!

I was going to suggest China Blue aka Sausage Vine -holboellia coriacea, which is not only evergreen but produces edible fruits (depending upon your taste)

"durable easy-to-grow vine has thick, glossy evergreen foliage. Abundant clusters of creamy white buds emerge in late winter, opening to highly perfumed pendulous blossoms of dusky mauve. Large lavender-pink sausage-like fruit are displayed in summer. Ideally situated on an arbor or trellis near pathways, patios and garden entrances so the attractive flowers and intoxicating fragrance can be enjoyed up close"
