I just got back from a weekend trip and I noticed my Albeta sprice planta is nearly 50 % brown. The ground is covered in brown needles. The plant looked fine yesterday morning. Al the browing occured in the last 24 hours.

The plant is approximately 18 years old and about 4.5 feet tall. The weather in the Boston area has been dry lately with temps varying from near frezzing to 80 degrees.

My question are : 1) Is the plant goping to die or already dead

If no what can I do to save it.

    Thanks

    Tom

It must be something environmental that has caused this stress. Likely the weather, I would guess without seeing it. I couldn't imagine there is too much you can do other then knock all the dead needles off, rake them up, check the dampness of the soil, and look to see if the branches are still alive beneath the bark. Give it some time, maybe just a cold snap or whatever took its toll. You may get lucky and it will shoot out a bunch of new growth in a few days or so? Jim.
