Dwarf Mulberry

    I planted a dwarf mulberry ( Morus nigra dwarf ever bearing) last spring from Phoenix perennials. It was about a foot high. It grew through the summer to about 3 feet and has three unbranched stems of equal height. Shall I prune down to the base leaving just one?

    Depends on if you want a bush shape or a single-trunked tree. On another subject there is a history of black-fruited forms of other kinds of mulberry being sold as "Morus nigra". You can tell where yours fits when it is in leaf:
