I have a newly planted dogwood tree that the leaves are wilting and turning brown. i planted it about a month ago and has just started doing these things recently. I soaked the root ball in root stilmulator and put in a couple of fertilizer stakes in a four foot diameter. I don't know if this overfertilizing and if it is, is there anything that I can do to cure it?

Check to see if rootball is still moist inside.

In future, do not use root stimulator (snake oil) or tree spikes (inefficient and expensive).
